The 18-voice Cantori performs a wide range of a cappella choral literature, including each year a new work by a different distinguished American composer for the Cantori Commissioning Project as a commitment to the fostering of American contemporary choral music.

Yunn-Shan Ma, a native of Taiwan, is active as a conductor, pianist and educator in both America and Asia. Ms. Ma is the current music director of the Taiwanese Choral Society of Rochester. She received the full scholarship for the doctorate study at the Eastman School of Music in 2011 under the tutelage of Dr. William Weinert and Neil Varon. While at Eastman, she has directed the New Horizons Chorus of the Eastman Community School, assisted the Eastman Opera and served as the instructor of the basic conducting labs. She is currently visiting teaching at the Hobart and William Smith Colleges for 2014-15 where she teaches music theory, conducting and leads the College Chorale, Cantori and the Woodwind Ensemble. With a passion for symphonic, operatic, choral-orchestral and contemporary repertoire, Ms. Ma has been selected to participate in distinguished competitions and master classes mentored by Helmuth Rilling, Mark Gibson, Donald Hunsberger, Johannes Schlaefli, Robert Page, Joseph Flummerfelt, Maurice Peress, and Donald Portney.

The Colleges Chorale not only holds a formal concert at the end of each term but also performs at a variety of campus events throughout the year. This year, the Colleges Chorale and Cantori are led by guest conductor, a Taiwan native, Yunn-Shan Ma. from Taiwan.
