Education Division of Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in New York (TECO-NY) has launched its first ever Taiwan Film Music Production Concert event “2015 Taiwan Film Music Production Presents: A Joint Concert in New York” on Novermber13. It has been the fortieth events that Education Division has held in over one year for the Taiwanese young talents to show their achievement and strength.
The event featured seven Taiwanese young talent students composers which are
Mitch Ming-Hsueh Lin, Ying-Chieh Wang, Julianna Shuo-An Chen, Meng-Mei Kuo, Wen Yu Lee, Cai-Jhen Jhu, and Chih-Hsien Hsieh from film dvoring program to showcase their compositions with a chamber orchestra of thirty musicians. The concert presented the various types of films with the original Taiwan Style music, including shorts, animations, film clips and commercials, etc., which composed and rearranged by the Taiwan emerging film composers based in New York. The composers adopted different tone colors, harmonies, melodies, counterpoints weaved and mixed together, portraying the emotions from heart-warming films, comedies, black-and-white films, modern minimalism films, and so on, with the live orchestra syncing the videos, presenting the unique, magical and dramatic music in the motion pictures.
The event invited the special guest, the director from New York University Film Scoring Program Director Mr. Mark Suozzo attending to the opening. He was excited to join the concert and he is amazed by saying this is such a wonderful and successful film music concert. Education Division Director Charlin Chang also said that music is the important part in the film. Without a wonderful music in a film, it wouldn’t be great as it supposed to be. She appreciated all the hard work from the student.
