The visiting tour on November 8 has divided into two parts. In the morning, Alison Snyder, head of the Interior Design Department of the Pratt Institute of Art, and Prof. Keena, Suh gave an overview of the their department to the Taiwanese delegation. In the afternoon, the Taiwanese delegation spent their time with Prof. Erika Hinrichs, Prof. Michael Su, Prof. Richard Sarrach, Prof. Philippe Baumann and Prof. Eric Wang of the Architectural Program of the Pratt Institute of Art. They inter-communicated design related programs and the development of Pratt Institute of Art. Prof. Eric Wang and Prof. Richard A Sarrach also shared their program that they have been leading the Pratt Institute students to visit Taiwan for the past several years. After visiting Pratt Institute, the delegation was invited by Professor Philippe Baumann to visit his own creative home and well known Courtyard House in Brooklyn, , which was reported by the New York Times: http://www.nytimes.com/2015/01/08/garden/in-brooklyn-a-dream-home-beside-the-gowanus-canal.html . The group was amazed by the design and creativity of Courtyard House’s spirit.
TECO-NY Education Division also arranged the group visited to Parsons School of Design on November 9, 2016. Parsons School of Design is one of the most well-known arts and design higher education institute in the world. Through the presentation from Professor Kyle Lee, the group learnt about how the prestigious school cultivated so many talents for the most creative and innovative design industries of the world. The leader of this Taiwanese delegation Dr. Liu, Professor of Chung Yuan Christian University, appreciated the tours of visiting prestigious schools Pratt Institute and Parsons is the most worthy and fruitful part of their trip and the most precious opportunity has broaden their educational vision of design. All the group members also agreed that this is a truly success of international education experience exchange.
