One of their stops of the tour is P.S. 173 (The Fresh Meadows School) which located in Queens of New York City. The group met with School Principal Molly Wang and guided by Mrs. PeiYu Chang, teacher of P.S. 173, to have a tour and classrooms observation. P.S. 173 is a famous public school in Queens and has been named by U.S. Department of Education as “ 2011 Blue Ribbon Schools “ based on their outstanding academic achievements. Through visiting prestigious schools and conducting classrooms observations, the teachers and educators broadened their vision and understanding of the educational philosophy and rationales behind the programs.
Besides visiting P.S. 173, the Taiwanese delegation also spent their time in Parsons School of Design. Parsons School of Design (known as Parsons) is a private art and design higher education institute located in Lower Manhattan in New York City. Parsons was the first school in the United States to offer programs in fashion design, advertising, interior design, and graphic design it is widely regarded as one of the most prestigious art and design schools in the world. The Taiwanese delegation felt impressed with Professor Kyle’s presentation and deeply appreciated the arrangement from the Education Division, NY, which has always shown a great dedication to them.
