On October 10, and October 11, 2015, the Education Division of TECO-New York, The Federation of Taiwanese Student Associations in New York (FTSANY), and New York Sport Association (NYSA) hosted the “ 2015 Basketball Contest for Double Tenth National Day” to be one of the celebration activity to congratulate the nation on its birthday celebration. The event was successfully organized and it performed the energy and unity from oversea Taiwanese.
There are 11 different basketball teams from different schools joining the contest, for example, team from Columbia University, New York University, Cornell University, Pace University and so on. More importantly, once again TECO-NY Education Director Charlin Chang organized the team from TECO New York Office this year and show the fully support for the Double Tenth National Day. TECO Ambassador Wei Liang ( Paul) Chang greatly appreciated and confirmed that this activity is one the of best event for the oversea Taiwanese from all corners come together to cheer the nation on its celebration. Education Director Charlin Chang also mentioned that the event not only performed the energy and unity from oversea Taiwanese students, but also proceed the communication among these school associations. Also the event invites some local representatives of different professions. In all, over 16 university student associations, and 200 attendees participated in this year’s contest, including local professions.
