National Chengchi University invites applications and nominations for the  position of the Dean of the International College of Innovation. The Dean is the  chief academic and administrative officer of the College and reports to the  President. The initial appointment will be 3 years and with a single consecutive  term.   

Established in 2018, the International College of Innovation (ICI) is the tenth  college of National Chengchi University. ICI upholds its mission to provide quality  education in Asian Society and Sustainable Development, Global Governance and  Sustainable Development, and Global Technology and Innovation Management.  Primary goals of ICI are to understand Asia in a dynamic global context, recognize  the potential of Asian century and cultivate young talent. The National Chengchi  University seeks a motivated, collaborative, and innovative dean for the  International College of Innovation.   

The main duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to the following: 
1) In coordination with the faculty of the College to devise, implement, maintain  and evaluate each program, appropriate to the mission of the College; 

2) Lead strategic planning and continuous improvement projects for cross‐  disciplinary programs; 

3) Establish relationships with the communities, benefactors, and partners in the  public and private sector; 

4) Planning and budgeting, personnel actions, policies and procedures to guide  the work of the College;

5) Demonstrate commitment to the excellence and continuous growth of the  College.

Established in 1931 as a prominent national university in Tainan City, Taiwan, NCKU has been ranked #22 globally in the field of Engineering (U.S. News-Education) and #51–100 for Engineering-Mechanical subject (QS) among global universities. The Department of Mechanical Engineering at NCKU invites applications for tenure-track faculty positions (assistant, associate, or full professor). Appointments are to commence on Feb. 1, 2021. Applications are welcome from individuals with research experience in the traditional areas of mechanical engineering, but preference will be given to the following areas: green energy engineering, photonics/semiconductors and nanotechnology, advanced manufacturing, robotics and artificial intelligence, intelligent vehicles, bioengineering, and mechanical engineering related fields or interdisciplinary fields.

Ideas and experience in innovative teaching will be an asset, while a strong research track record commensurate with the rank of appointment is essential. The successful candidates will be required to teach and supervise students at both undergraduate and graduate levels, and establish a strong, externally-funded research program. Candidates must have a Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering or a closely-related field. Candidates should have a demonstrated track record of technical, academic (excellence, or promise of excellence, in teaching and scholarly research) and professional achievement appropriate to the level of their appointment. Eligible, successful applicants will be assisted in the application of a bonus award offered by the Ministry of Science and Technology (MOST), Taiwan. Preference will be given to those applicants who have received grant or award from the MOST Einstein program, Columbus program, or Ta-You Wu Memorial Award.

Responsibilities
1. Advanced PLASMA ETCH module process development for 2 nm technology node and beyond
2. Evaluate new tool or hardware, new chemistry or gas, new material, or new process approach to enable transistor scaling
3. Construct and executes full experimental plans to solve problems. Identify key input and output variables and provide data analysis of results.
4. Work closely with integration, defect, device and other modules for yield improvement and device performance enhancement
 
Qualifications
1. Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering, Material Science, Chemistry, Physics, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or related engineering discipline (fresh Ph.D. graduates are welcome to apply)
2. Experience in low-temperature plasma experiment and simulation will be greatly preferred.
3. Strong technical problem-solving and analytical skills with innovation and out of box thinking
4. Must be effectively bilingual in Mandarin and English
5. Relocation to Hsinchu (Taiwan) is required
